No show and short notice cancellation policy

If you schedule an appointment and do not attend (no show), you will be called by our reception staff. If this happens more than once, you will be charged fully for this visit. This may also apply to same day cancellations with short notice.

First Appointments

We book 1 hour initial appointments and 30 minute subsequent appointments. Other time options are available on exception and with approval of the attending clinician. All RMT appointments are 1 hour long.

The following visits are required to be booked for 1 hour:

  1. All out of city, province and/or country consultations
  2. If we are seeing you only once at the request of another health practitioner. This will allow us sufficient time to do a proper consultation for both you and your referring practitioner.
  3. Consultation for diastasis rectus abdominis evaluation
  4. Consultation for postpartum screening of the abdominal wall and pelvic floor muscles that includes an ultrasound imaging examination.
  5. Consultation for vestibular therapy. Please be sure to have someone available to drive you to and from your appointment.

Report Required?

Please advise us at the time of booking if you will require a report outlining our findings and treatment suggestions; there is an additional fee for this service.

Arrive Early

Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled first appointment to ensure your registration details have been completed before your time with the consultant begins.

What to bring?

Be sure to bring the following, if relevant, for your registration:

ICBC clients

Bring your Doctor’s name and referral, ICBC claim number, adjustor’s name as well as your BC carecard. Please note that effective April 1, 2019 ICBC changed its payment policy and requires approval for all visits that are after 12 weeks from your MVA.  ICBC does NOT cover the full cost of physiotherapy at our office and a visit fee will be charged. The receptionist will provide you will this information when you book your first appointment.

RCMP/DVA/MSP exempt status

Please speak to the receptionist about specific coverage for these groups.

All other clients

Physiotherapy is not covered by the Medical Services Plan of British Columbia, however your individual extended health plan may cover part/all of your physiotherapy. You are required to pay for your treatment in full on the day of the treatment; a receipt for the services rendered will be issued at the time of your visit and can be submitted to your extended health plan.

We accept cash, cheque, VISA or Mastercard.

Subsequent Appointments

Subsequent appointments are scheduled for ½ hour; one-hour booking is available on request.

Some of this time may be dedicated to charting, discussion, treatment planning and/or generating reports to communicate, with your permission, to the rest of your health team.

We do not double book, no other clients are booked in your time.

Check-up Appointments Available

After you are discharged you can choose to be sent an email reminder to book in for a followup ‘check-up’ appointment.

The length of time between your last visit and this reminder can be decided between you and your therapist. We aim to help you remain healthy and active and to prevent problems from becoming painful and limiting. The choice is yours! When you receive this reminder email, please call the clinic to book your ‘check-up’ appointment.
