Cathy received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia in 2000. As a member of the varsity women’s volleyball team at UBC during those years she was first exposed to physiotherapy and it’s positive impact on her own personal athletic career.
Separation of the recti, or stretching of the midline of the abdominal muscles is a common condition after some pregnancies, or after many years of abdominal loading with poor technique, and is called Diastasis Rectus Abdominis.
Leigh has been active in sport from a young age, and was first exposed to physiotherapy following an ankle injury at age 13. Her interest in health and physical activity continued through high school while she played fast pitch softball, volleyball and basketball.
Women’s Health is an umbrella term for addressing a spectrum of issues: reproductive health, sexual health, menstruation, maternal health, child birth (pre/post partum), prolapse, incontinence, sport related issues (i.e. leakage or injuries that lead to pelvic pain or pelvic instability (low back, groin etc.)), female cancers (i.e. breast), and bone health.
Kelly is a Women’s Health Physiotherapist all the way from the Gold Coast in Australia. She graduated with high distinction in both a Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPhty) and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (BBiomedSc).
